Why are you in the long term care industry?
I can’t think of a more rewarding area of healthcare. Over the years, I have witnessed first hand how the long term care industry has grown and become more sophisticated as we care for our seniors. It’s exciting to be a part of that.
Express your passion for the elderly?
As our nation grays, the over 70 segment of our population will grow exponentially and to accommodate we must be prepared. As I grow older, the elderly become more and more our link to the past, the glory days of our nation. We should respect the elderly as a valuable asset and learn from them, so that we don’t make the same mistakes.
What is your most treasured moment in long term care? To say that there is only a single moment would be a huge understatement. Overall, watching our elderly enter a long term care facility, go through rehab, then go back home to function normally in a familiar setting gives me a great sense of satisfaction and pride in our therapists.
Brief description of your area of responsibility…Managing our rehab business in the middle part of the U.S…. We have been granted the opportunity to offer our services in the long term care setting throughout much of the Midwest. I am responsible for ensuring that our business remains healthy and vibrant so that we can continue to offer the highest quality of care available to our elderly treasures.
