Why are you in the long term care industry?
I joined the long term care industry because I believe that I can make a difference in supporting Hallmark Rehabilitation and our employees through the adoption of a fair and consistent approach to all HR related issues, with the aim to support a thriving environment where, through the active implementation of equality of opportunity, all staff are able to achieve their full potential and thus make a valued contribution to the work of Hallmark Rehabilitation as a whole.

Express your passion for the elderly.
I have a definite and strong passion for the elderly. As a person with four living elderly grandparents, I continually experience the love, history, and laughter that my grandparents share with me through their experiences in life. The elderly are truly treasures to be respected and cared for. They many times not only carry with them our history, but also help us to mold our destiny.

What is your most treasured moment in long term care?
One experience that stands out for me was during a visit to one of our facilities in Eureka, CA. I was visiting with some of our therapists in the Rehab Department when a lovely woman stopped in to say hello to the rehab staff. She was so happy to see everyone and to express how thankful she was that with their assistance, she was able to not only walk on her own, but was able to return home. She also mentioned to me that her husband was now a resident and she was sure that with the wonderful treatment provided by our rehab staff, she was sure that he would be able to return home also. She referred to the therapists as “miracle workers.” It was so uplifting to see first hand, the contributions to the lives of the elderly that we are making here at Hallmark Rehabilitation.

Hobbies or activities outside of work:
Reading, relaxing at the beach, spending time with family and friends, cars and watching basketball, basketball, basketball!!
